We have finished benchmarks and copies of results will be coming home soon.  Our class will be doing the readings at the all school mass tomorrow.  Please join us if you are able.  Don't forget to send boxtops in if you have any.  I have been encouraging the students to try and win this contest. We are not in the running right now, but it would be nice to come from behind and win a week of free dress and pizza.  Please make sure the kids are bundled up this week.

Hello.  This week in Religion we will be in Chapter 9- The Holy Spirit Guides Us.  Students will understand that we are each given gifts and that we should share our gifts with others.  Our class will be preparing the liturgy for next Wednesday's all school Mass.  (January 23rd)  Please check email for homework assignments each night.  We are still collecting box tops and have not been getting many turned in.  If you have any we could use them.  It is quite cold outside and there are a few children who are not dressing warm enough for recess.  They will be going outside so tell them to bundle up.  Thanks.

Don't forget the Christmas Program is this Thursday.  There will be  1:30 PM and 7:00 PM performances.  Students have been rehearsing during our Religion bock, so we will do our study of the Church Seasons and the Liturgical Calendar this week.  We also discuss Advent customs and the three comings of Jesus in history, mystery and majesty.  Have a good week.  Thanks for all the nice candygrams I received last week.

Hello Parents.  This is Spirit Week.  Students may wear pajamas to school tomorrow.  On Thursday, students may dress as someone from another country.  On Friday, students may wear a crazy hat and dress in spirit wear.  For our Advent service project fourth graders are asked to bring in paper products, such as paper towels, kleenex, and toilet paper for Seeds For Hope, a women's shelter.  You may send any items you wish to donate to school.  We will be focusing on Advent and the Liturgical Calendar in Religion this week.  Scholastic Winter Book Fair is taking place this week.

Hello.  I hope everyone had a great break. In Religion this week, we will complete our study of The Beatitudes in Chapter 7.  Students will have a short assessment over Chapter 7 toward the end of the week.  We will then move on to our study of  Advent. Students will understand that Advent is a time of waiting and preparing, learn about the Advent wreath, the Jesse tree, and other Advent customs and traditions.  Please don't forget to send in those boxtops  We have begun another 5 day challenge of perfect attendance/no tardies.  Students will get a pizza party the next time we reach our goal.  Please help by getting your child to school on time every day.  Thanks and have a good week.

Hi Parents.  We are having a canned food drive at school this week.  If you have any canned goods you would like to donate, have your child bring them to school tomorrow.  We are also collecting box tops again.  The contest runs until February 21st.  I am trying to get the kids fired up so we can win the awesome grand prize in Room 1.  I will not collect Reading calendars until November 30th.  Everyone enjoy the Thanksgiving break. We will begin studying about The Beatitudes in Religion, when we return next week

We reached our goal last week of perfect attendance for 5 straight days.  I am proud of everyone for "showing up".  We celebrated with a popcorn party on Friday afternoon.  We will continue studying Chapter 7 in Religion this week.  I didn't receive any book orders for Scholastic books, so no orders will be placed for November.  Have a great week.
