1-22-13- Students completed an assignment on personification, which included dialogue between inanimate objects. They all did a nice job and they are hanging in the hallway. We will be making attribute charts for our home descriptions this week. They will write draft paragraphs of their houses using a paragraph frame. We will also write in journals. They will have a couple of grammar practice sheets for homework.
1-14-13- Students have been reviewing skills that were taught during first semester. We will begin a new writing piece this week where students will describe houses. I will be giving students practice sheets for homework the next several weeks to help get them prepared for ISTEP. Our benchmarks are showing they need more practice in writing conventions. We will continue writing in journals on most days.
